Page Top | Turntable Motors $14.99 There is now a replacement motor available for both the Made in West Germany and the Made in USA record players! These replacement motors are the correct RPM range for the turntables and operate at the required low voltage, low rpm. Which means that this motor will operate every time with a single "D" battery. It will run each time you gently close the lid to play and when you depress the play message lever. This motor also replaces the old style motor. INFO! This is just the motor. You will need to remove and replace the brass pulley onto the new motor. CAUTION! This requires a gear puller so you don't damage the new motor during removal and replacement. Pulling and tugging on the brass pulley will damage the motor. GOOD NEWS! If you purchase a Mummy Turntable Motor and you need me to swap the brass belt pulley, just send the old motor to me and I'll swap it for you for free! |

This controller will give you precision turntable speed control. When the battery is dropped in the player, these controllers work every time! INFO! This is only the speed controller. If you want me to add the old tan speed controller knob onto the new shaft you will need to remove the old controller and send it to me. You might just want to send the entire unit! There is an additional charge of $9.99 to cut the shaft, add the old knob onto the new shaft. It's take about 2hrs to perform the grafting surgery! See below.

This is the maximum cost for the 3 major contacts that are normally destroyed because of battery corrosion. These contacts are available for you to install with plastic rivets. Page Top | Other Repairs Player Repaint: There are many other repairs that I can perform as well. Some players have had paint damage from battery corrosion or the factory applied the gold paint with a very poor technique. I can touchup the paint or remove and repaint using the factory technique. The slideshow has a example where an extra step was taken and the face was painted in. I used the Egyptian King Tut Burial mask as a guide.
Wobbly Turntable or Record Scrapes When it Turns: Some units have had the brown turntable shaft support break underneath. It shows a hairline visible crack. That can be repaired. The symptoms are that the turntable scrapes and you can see it wobble when played. You can see this by pressing down on the lid switch lightly and watching the turntable rotate. The message playback varies in pitch or sounds warbly or warblish as it plays and also the turntable with shaft pops out easily. I have also replaced the turntable shaft cap, if yours is missing. Unit does not play next message: Another problem I have seen are the reset message lever fails to start a new message. The symtoms are that the unit will play the first message when you close the lid but when you press the next message lever, you don't hear the needle move back to the start position. It fails to play the next message. So then the user always has to open the lid and let the needle fall back in place then close the lid, to play the next message. This is caused by a message reset lever cam that has become unglued/lost and needs to be replaced. I recreate these by hand and retest thoroughly! Click here to contact me with any questions! |
